Serif or Sans Serif Font for web writing

Serif or Sans Serif Fonts for Web Writing

Which font type is best for writing for the web?

Traditionally sans serif fonts were used for web writing because computer and device screens had a low resolution. Serif fonts were too hard to read on the screens. This link describes the relationship between sans serif fonts and the resolution of a device screen.

Due to the advancement in the resolution of our device screens, we can use some serif fonts in our web writing. The following link describes why we can now easily read serif fonts on the web and how to use them properly.

An important point to remember is to use “web safe” fonts when writing for the web so your site visitors can view your content in the font that you intend them to see. Here is a link for examples of the top web safe fonts to use in your writing.

I propose we use Arial, as it is the most common, easy to read, and web safe.
