The Oxford Comma

The Oxford comma is used when you want to list two or more nouns. An example would be "My wife sent me to the store for eggs, milk, and cheese," The on going debate about the oxford comma is if the second comma is needed. Some people believe it should be there, so their is no confusion. Others believe it is unneeded because the word and is inserted after the second item in the list. In my opinion I believe Oxford comma is needed in English grammar, we have a difficult language to understand. Sometimes when we are writing or speaking a list it is hard to understand or decode our content. The Oxford comma is not needed in every situation but it does have value in our language.

Below is a link to the website including the information on the Oxford comma. What is your take on the Oxford Comma is it necessary or an inconvenience?
